- In 2003, New Comiskey Park was re-named to U.S. Cellular Field after cell phone company U.S. Cellular bought the naming rights at $68 million for 23 years.

2005 World Series

- 2003 marked the first All-Star game played at U.S. Cellular Field with White Sox players Magglio Ordonez, Carl Everett, and Esteban Loaiza representing the White Sox.

- In 2005, the White Sox finished with a 99-63 record and making the postseason and beating the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS playoffs in 3 games and beating the Anaheim Angels in 5 games in the ALCS playoffs.

During the course of the ALCS, the White Sox would be the first team since the 1927 Yankees to have four straight postseason complete games by four pitchers (Mark Buerhle, Freddy Garcia, Jon Garland, and Jose Contreras) and also became the only team to win all three post-season victories on the road.

The White Sox completed the 2005 season by winning the World Series beating the Houston Astros in 4 games. The White Sox's first championship in 88 years. White Sox right fielder Jermaine Dye was named the World Series MVP.

- Ozzie Guillen led the AL All-Star squad for 2006. The White Sox had seven represenatives (Mark Buehrle, Jose Contreras, Jermaine Dye, Bobby Jenks, Paul Konerko, A.J. Pierzynski, and Jim Thome), the most among any club to play in an All-Star game.

- In 2008, Rookie second-basemen Alexei Ramirez set a major-league single season record for a rookie by hitting four grand slams.

- The White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins in a one-game playoff to clinch the division, but lost to the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS, 3 games to 1.
